The action movie Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan and based on a Tamil film of the same name, has wrapped shooting, according to the makers.
The film is based on the renowned Indian folktale Vikram Aur Betal and is billed as an edge-of-your-seat action crime thriller. It tells the narrative of a tough cop, played by Saif, who sets out to find and apprehend a dangerous mobster, played by Hrithik.
The Hindi film is a replica of R Madhavan’s 2017 Tamil blockbuster, which stars Vijay Sethupathi as a cop and R Madhavan as a mobster.
The original film was made by Pushkar and Gayatri, who also directed the Hindi remake.
To play Vedha, Hrithik claimed he had to break free from the hero’s position and venture into new ground.
“Becoming Vedha was unlike any other experience I’ve ever had. As an actor, I had to shatter the mould of the ‘hero’ and venture into uncharted terrain. I felt like I was graduating on the journey. In a statement, the 48-year-old actor stated, “My persistent directors Pushkar and Gayatri kept me on a treadmill, secretly challenging me to push boundaries.”
“In retrospect, I became the Vedha.” I did it because of Saif Ali Khan’s tremendous presence as Vikram. He is extraordinary in every way,” he remarked.
Working with Pushkar and Gayatri, according to Saif, has been a gratifying experience.
“Pushkar and Gayatri are a dynamic duo with a lot of creative energy, and working with them has been a lot of fun.” Working with Hrithik and completing some hard action scenes was the icing on the cake and an elevating experience for me,” the 51-year-old performer remarked.
The directors described working with Hrithik and Saif as a “exhilarating experience.”
“We were able to achieve what we had envisioned at a script level because to our very talented and outstanding staff.” In a joint statement, the directors said, “We can’t wait to show our film to the audience.”
Vikram Vedha’s filming began in October 2021. The film was shot in a variety of places, including Abu Dhabi, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
Sharib Hashmi and Satyadeep Mishra both have intriguing roles in the film.
Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Films, and Reliance Entertainment present Vikram Vedha in partnership with Friday Filmworks and YNOT Studios. S. Sashikanth and Bhushan Kumar are the producers.
On September 30, it will be released in theatres all over the world.
